Jacques Fricasse

Jacques Fricasse was a sergeant in the 127th demi-brigade during the late 18th and early 19th centuries. He is best known for his work "Journal de marche du sergent Fricasse de la 127e demi-brigade : 1792-1802," which provides a detailed account of military life and operations during the Revolutionary Wars. This journal not only chronicles his experiences but also includes illustrations of military uniforms from the period, drawn by P. Sellier based on contemporary German engravings. Fricasse's writings offer valuable insights into the daily realities of soldiers and the historical context of the time.
