Mei Yuan

Yuan Mei (1716–1798) was a prominent Chinese poet, essayist, and literary critic of the Qing dynasty. He is best known for his contributions to the genre of classical Chinese poetry and for his insightful essays on literature and aesthetics. His notable works include "子不語" (Zi Bu Yu), a collection of anecdotes and reflections that explore moral and philosophical themes, and "隨園詩話" (Sui Yuan Shi Hua), which discusses poetic theory and practice.
