In allen Nächten steht die Heimat nah,
Als wäre sie noch mein,
Vor meinen traumbeglückten Augen da.

Und wie ein widerspenstig Kind
Einwiegen und zur Ruhe singen.
Und immer wieder ist es ungemut,
Ist nicht zur Ruh’ zu bringen,
Ist wild und schwach wie Kinder sind.
