About This Book

The work surveys every creature named in the Scriptures, offering a natural-history description for each species followed by explanations of the biblical passages in which it appears. Entries address identification, habits, habitat, and cultural associations, and draw on Egyptian and Assyrian monuments, travelers' observations, and regional geography to clarify ancient references.
