It details material culture and everyday practices — boat types, food offerings, craft occupations, and caste councils — and notes variations across districts and subgroups. Observations combine field reports, local informants, and earlier accounts, often citing rituals of purification, remarriage, exogamous septs, and agricultural ceremonies.
