Death Wish

A space freighter transporting a huge, delicate computer suffers a sudden propulsion failure that leaves its engines firing uncontrolled and fuel dangerously low. Three officers—a captain, an engineer and a navigator—work to diagnose the fused main firing circuit, wrestle with emergency shutdowns and attempt course changes. Navigational calculations reveal inadequate fuel to reverse course or achieve a safe orbit, effectively sending the ship out of the Solar System. Tension rises as the crew debates options, seeks external help and confronts the gap between technical expertise and an unresolvable emergency.
