Double Take

The story follows Paul Asher after a roadside encounter with a mysterious woman, Naomi, escalates into a high-speed chase and a desperate entry into a barn that turns out to be a disguised spaceship housing a clandestine base. Inside, a man in a wheelchair named Hafitz presides over armed operatives who believe Asher carries secret plans concealed on his body. Searched and questioned, Asher resists, momentarily incapacitates Naomi, and retrieves the hidden packet before reinforcements arrive. The plot moves briskly between pursuit, technological astonishment, and tense interrogation as characters contend over the missing item and its consequences.
