About This Book

A bilingual technical dictionary offering English-to-French and French-to-English translations of terms used in motor cars, cycles, and boats. Entries are arranged alphabetically and cover components, mechanical parts, controls, fuels, and maintenance vocabulary, with cycle-specific terms typographically distinguished. Transcriber's Note

This book contains a dictionary plus a book advertisements section. The punctation has been homogenized in the dictionary but not in the advertisements. The spelling of some names in the dictionary can differ between the French/English part and the English/French part; this has not been fixed. An alphabetical index was added in the Contents section for the reader's comfort.

The following typos have been fixed in the dictionary:

  • p55: corrected “concassés” into “concassées” (“Route en pierres concassées”)
  • p68: corrected “Rétard” into “Retard” (“Retard à l'allumage.”)

In the advertisements section, for the two book entries “Steel Bar and Plate Tables.”, L and T were set in bold, instead of a distinct font.

Note de transcription

Ce livre contient un dictionnaire, plus une section publicités. La ponctuation a été homogénéisée dans le dictionnaire, mais pas dans les publicités. L'ortographe de certains mots diffère dans le dictionnaire entre les versions French/English et English/French; celle-ci n'a pas été corrigée. Un index alphabétique à été ajouté dans la section Contents pour le confort du lecteur.

Les erreurs suivantes ont été corrigées:

  • p55: corrige «concassés» en «concassées» («Route en pierres concassées»),
  • p68: corrige «Rétard» en «Retard» («Retard à l'allumage.»).

Dans les publicités, pour les 2 livres intitulés «Steel Bar and Plate Tables.», L et T ont été mis en gras, au lieu d'utiliser une autre police.
