Escape From Pluto

A former planetary ruler exiled to Pluto endures the planet's brutal cold and perceives mocking voices amplified inside his helmet, feeding his bitterness and fear. He confronts memories of defeat and a physician's warning that survival could shatter his mind. Unknown Plutonian beings detect his thought emanations and examine him with instruments, debating whether he is a ruse or a genuine carbon-class man. Their society, composed of elements stable at low temperatures and steered by a predictive future machine, is split into hidden nations guided by a leadership called The Four. Concluding he cannot remain, their leaders arrange for ships to instruct and return the man to space, effectively disposing of him.
