Fausto: Primera parte

A disenchanted scholar, frustrated by the limits of human knowledge, enters a pact with a cynical supernatural being who promises regained youth and access to worldly pleasures and power. The ensuing episodes shift between supernatural debates, a theater of human desires, and intimate domestic tragedy as the scholar's liaison with a young woman brings social scandal and personal ruin. Interwoven are philosophical dialogues, comic interludes, and allegorical scenes that probe ambition, temptation, guilt, and the struggle between striving for transcendence and moral responsibility, leaving open the possibility of spiritual reckoning amid human fallibility.
