About This Book

A sequence of lyric poems in Galician that blend evocative depictions of misty coastal and rural landscapes with intimate meditations on grief, longing, and domestic life. The voice alternates tender, maternal and elegiac tones with sharper social awareness, addressing scarcity, departure, and cultural memory. Varied forms—short songs, narrative fragments, and longer reflective pieces—use folk rhythms and vivid natural imagery to explore language, belonging, and the persistence of feeling across absence and change.

A frol ô orballo d’a tarde.

E sin romor nin queixa, nin choros, nin cantares,

Brandos así e saudosos, cal alentar d’os ánxeles,

En nós encarnan puros, corren co’a nosa sangre

Y os hermos reverdecen, d’o esprito onde moraren.

Busca estes amores... búscaos,

Si tes quen ch’os poida dare;

Qu’estes son soyo os que duran

N’esta vida de pasaxen.
