About This Book

A family memoir draws on letters and recollections to chart the lives of twin brothers from childhood through schooling and adult service. It presents their personalities, close interdependence, sporting interests and scholarly pursuits, friendships and mentorships, and practical efforts such as managing estates and supporting charitable projects. The text follows their divergent careers and travels, episodes of illness and mutual care, and the impact of wartime service on both. Photographs and family testimony supplement the narrative, and publication was undertaken with proceeds designated for a children's welfare association.
