A narrative observes the constrained daily life of adolescent boarders in a convent school, juxtaposing liturgical discipline, strict superiors and regimented routines with the sensory abundance of the surrounding garden. Through vivid domestic detail and scenes of small rebellions, it portrays longing for worldly freedom, memory of home, and the girls' private consolations amid ritualized silence. The work alternates between communal practices, such as prayers and punishments, and intimate interior moments—friendships, nostalgia, and furtive pleasures—using natural imagery to highlight tensions between institutional authority and human desire.
