In the Orbit of Saturn

The story follows Quirl Finner, an Interplanetary Flying Police agent disguised as a wealthy passenger who is deliberately captured when a liner en route to Titan is seized by a notorious pirate cruiser called the Solar Scourge. The raid halts the ship's rotation and artificial gravity, kills defenders by producing vacuum breaches, and leaves civilians confined in a cramped cylindrical hold under harsh guard. Amid squalor, intimidation, and daily inspections by a brutal first mate, Quirl preserves his cover to gather intelligence, endure prisoner baiting, and await a chance to learn how the pirates operate and to bring their menace to light.
