About This Book
A displaced priestess serves a goddess on a foreign shore while grieving the loss of home and family. When a tormented stranger and his companion arrive, local ritual law threatens the newcomer with sacrificial death, forcing the priestess to reconcile sacred duty, personal compassion, and loyalty. The ruler who protects her must weigh authority against mercy as hidden identities and past crimes come to light. Through recognition, pleading, and appeals to humane principles, conflicts over exile, vengeance, and moral obligation are resolved toward clemency and the hope of return.
