Jumpin’ Dick say he would bear longer hunger than White Belly. So White Belly up a tree where a grape a drop, an’ Jumpin’ Dick pick up on de ground.
White Belly say,
“Coo coo, me lovin’! coo coo, me lovin’!
Everybody goin’ to look for dem dandy.”
Jumpin’ Dick dance an’ sing,
“Every Monday morning,
Zum zick a zum zum!
Every Monday morning,
Zum zick a zum zum!”
