About This Book
A little boy who lives with his father on a houseboat cares for many ducks and is sent to market to sell them and buy a pig for dinner. When the pig escapes into a pig family's yard he joins their play, loses his clothes, and after nightfall climbs onto the roof only to be carried off and dropped by an eagle into the river. Returned empty-handed, he is punished, then returns to threaten the pigs' house, which leads the animals to show him a hoard of buried coins; he uses his shirt as a bag to take money and buys the promised roast, while his father later sneaks away to gather more gold.
