Monster of the Asteroid

The narrative follows a young inventor engaged to a wealthy companion who, after a disturbing encounter with a cloaked stranger and a small, boxlike figure, returns home to find the house emptied and ominous burns near the laboratory. Investigation leads into an increasingly dire conflict with grotesque, tentacled entities connected to an asteroid stronghold and a calculating Master who enslaves victims. The story traces attempts to resist and escape, mixing scientific ingenuity around a prototype nonlethal projector with violent confrontations, captures, and desperate rescues, and it explores human resolve and the perils of encountering inexplicable, otherworldly force.
