About This Book

A three-act drama set in an elegant household, it follows Cesare D'Arconte, his son Giacomo, the young Nellina and other family members as private desires and social expectations collide; a zealous clerical administrator, Don Candido, both fosters and exposes tensions. Through domestic scenes and pointed conversations, secrets and rivalries surface, revealing hypocrisy, conflicting duties and the strain between passion and respectability. The action escalates across the acts to decisive confrontations and revelations that redefine relationships and moral standing.
