On Christmas Day In The Evening

A country family returns to their old home for Christmas and discovers the village meeting house has been shuttered by a bitter local quarrel. A family member suggests holding a communal Christmas evening service to bring everyone together, and relatives and neighbors decorate the building, arrange music, and plan a sermon. During the gathering an elderly, frail man unexpectedly regains vigor and delivers a compelling message that softens hard feelings, rekindles faith and goodwill, and helps reconcile rival factions so the meeting house can once again serve as a shared place of worship and community.
