Operation Lorelie

In a devastated postwar world, two heavily equipped survivors probe the ruins of a city to locate missing reconnaissance teams and restore life. As they follow dust-marked footprints they encounter an eerie, seductive female song that masks a deadly mechanism; mistrust and rivalry escalate between them over the discovery, leading to violence and a crippling injury. One man pursues the lure alone and is killed when the song-triggered trap ignites, revealing charred remains and a phonograph-like device that repeats the fatal melody. The narrative juxtaposes longing for peace and human desires with the lingering, engineered dangers left in the wreckage.
