Our American Cousin

The play depicts the disruption in a country household when a forthright relative from abroad arrives, provoking comic clashes between plainspoken manners and polished affectation. Over three acts, misunderstandings, eccentric banter, romantic entanglements and physical comedy produce rapid, satirical scenes that alternate with moments of sentiment.
