About This Book

A teacher's companion that organizes picture-study into monthly lessons using reproductions of well-known paintings. Each lesson opens with observation questions, follows with a concise narrative that explains the scene and the artist's life, offers short stories and anecdotes tied to the image, and suggests composition topics and classroom activities. Designed to fit twenty- to thirty-minute drawing periods or to serve as a supplementary reader, the material supports visual literacy, descriptive writing, and ethical discussions (for example, kindness to animals) while giving practical guidance for teachers less confident in art history.
