Arterial, venous and capillary hæmorrhage belong almost exclusively to the domain of surgery. Internal hæmorrhages will be considered in connection with the organs in which they take place.
The volume systematically explains the principles and practice of veterinary medicine, distinguishing general and special pathology, morbid anatomy, and pathological chemistry, and defining disease. It outlines methods of diagnosis, symptomatology, prognosis, prophylaxis and therapeutics. Organized by organs and systems, it surveys diseases of the respiratory tract (nose, throat, lungs, pleura), the heart and circulation, and related parasitic and infectious conditions, with attention to clinical signs, percussion and auscultation, stages and complications.
