About This Book

A practical veterinary manual aimed at farmers and stock-owners, offering anatomy, preventive husbandry, and stepwise treatments for cattle, sheep, swine, and dogs. It combines feeding, watering, barn arrangement, milking, cheese and butter making, breeding guidance, and breed descriptions with detailed accounts of common ailments — inflammations, respiratory and digestive disorders, parasites, foot and joint problems, and reproductive emergencies — and instructions for operations when needed. Remedies, poultices, clysters, and a veterinary materia medica are provided alongside an appendix of preparations and administration forms. The approach stresses sanative agents and methods that support natural vital powers rather than harsh bleeding or toxic practices.
