In this book, there are Footnotes (marked with letters) and (end)Notes (marked with numbers). In the original book, the footnotes are located at the bottom of the relevant pages and the (end)notes are located at the end of the book (in its own section titled "Notes"). In this e-book, the footnotes are relocated to the end of the e-book (in a section titled "Footnotes", after the Appendices and before the Bibliography.) It is to be noted that some footnotes also contain (end)notes.
Obvious printer's errors have been repaired, other inconsistent spellings have been kept, including inconsistent use of hyphen (e.g. "above mentioned" and "above-mentioned"), diacritical marks (e.g. "Shiraz" and "Shíráz"), and proper name (e.g. "Zil.i.Sultan" and "Zil.e.Sultan").
