The Boy Ranchers in Death Valley; Or, Diamond X and the Poison Mystery

A band of young ranchers and their friends at Diamond X investigate a mysterious outbreak that kills cattle in Death Valley. Their inquiry sends them over desert trails and into secluded glens and caves, where they encounter smugglers, a vanished boy, a suspicious elixir and a glittering mine. The plot combines night alarms, chases and searches with moments of ingenuity and improvised protection against toxic hazards, as the youths test clues, confront antagonists and stage rescues. The action-driven chapters move from warning and discovery through perilous exploration to the unmasking of the danger and the restoration of safety to the ranch.
