About This Book

The story follows four teenage Explorer scouts—Jack, Ken, Willie and Warwick—chosen for a mission to locate a missing man and a mysterious parchment. Their journey moves from a coastal town through bureaucratic delays and a suspicious sea captain to earthquakes, contraband, and a forced trek into rugged wilderness. Along the way they endure ambushes, capture by hostile groups, a medicine man's riddles, subterranean tunnels and a hidden ancient city protecting Inca gold and odd perils such as cannibal fish. Courage, resourcefulness and scoutcraft are tested as betrayals surface and the truth about the missing man is uncovered.

An exciting series of action stories about a group of youngsters and the fun they enjoy as CUB SCOUTS, the junior organization of the BOY SCOUTS. Every boy will get a kick out of the adventures of DAN CARTER and how he and his Pack help to solve some thrilling mysteries. For boys eight to eleven.
