About This Book
The narrative follows a small Brownie Scout troop and their leader on a nature hike that turns into a local mystery when tree identification tags conflict with the trees. Their curiosity leads to a tossed stone carrying a secret note, a mysterious sack, scattered buttons, and unwelcome intruders; the girls consult a neighbor, organize stakeouts, and help an afflicted woman. Through teamwork, observation, and community cooperation they identify the culprits, navigate a tense auction, participate in troop advancement, and ultimately see a long-held wish come true.
