About This Book

A scholarly edition collects the author's French writings, led by a long allegorical mirror of mankind that examines moral failings and virtues through exempla and reflection; it also includes two series of lyrical balades and a short didactic treatise offering examples and counsel for married lovers. The volume presents edited Middle French texts with introductions, textual notes, glossaries, and indices, and situates the poems within their linguistic and literary contexts while clarifying difficult passages for readers and students.
