About This Book

The narrator recounts his ordeal aboard a ghostly, doomed vessel whose spectral crew and grim captain enforce an inescapable voyage. Tension rises when the mate, prone to somnambulism and malevolent impulses, attempts to kill the narrator, prompting fears for his loved one and plans for escape. The account follows shipboard life under supernatural constraints: hidden treasure below decks, strained alliances, violent weather and leaks, and the narrator's struggle with captivity and diminishing hope as the captain insists on carrying his companion onward.
