The work presents a systematic account of the landscape, drainage, and geology of southeastern Egypt based on field surveys, combining detailed maps, photographic plates, and rock illustrations. It explains surveying methods and tabulates principal geographic results, then describes the wadis that drain toward the Nile and the sea, mountain and hill features, and the distribution of water sources. Subsequent sections classify and illustrate sedimentary, igneous, and metamorphic rocks, summarize regional tectonics and geological history, outline Bedouin territorial limits, and close with practical route notes and cartographic material for further exploration.
