The Girls of Central High in Camp; Or, the Old Professor's Secret

The story follows a group of high-school girls who spend a summer camping on Acorn Island, where social tensions over invitations and a paid maid give way to outdoor adventures. The girls and their companions adapt to camp life, encounter mysteries including reports of a haunt and a kleptomaniac ghost, and search the island. Episodes include fishing trips, confrontations with a suspicious young man, involvement of the sheriff and dogs, and the arrival of an eccentric professor whose discoveries clarify secrets. Through teamwork, resourcefulness, and humor the campers unravel the island’s puzzles and grow more confident while solving practical problems and interpersonal conflicts.
