The gold rock of the Chippewa

Set in the rocky islands and cold lakes of the Lake Superior region in 1775, the narrative follows a young boy and his companions as they survive in the wild while pursuing a legendary gold rock. Episodes alternate between camp life, hunting and trapping, tracking clues across islands and pools, and tense encounters with wolves, storms, and a pirate vessel. Recurring motifs include a dog named Tawny, the counsel of a figure called Ganawa, and practical wilderness craft; the story builds through successive searches and discoveries toward a final, daring expedition.
