About This Book

This collection assembles a set of short allegorical tales in which fantastical incidents illuminate human virtues and follies. One story follows a gilded city statue that enlists a migratory bird to distribute its jewels to relieve urban suffering, exploring sacrifice and compassion. Another concerns an impassioned nightingale whose devotion to true love clashes with a young man's practical desires, questioning the cost of artistic devotion. Other tales depict a selfish giant whose heart is softened by children's return, a supposedly devoted friend whose motives reveal hypocrisy, and a proud firework whose vanity leads to humiliation, together probing generosity, pride, and the moral weight of kindness.
