About This Book

A series of clinical psychoanalytic studies examines manifestations of same-sex attraction and the constellation of feelings and behaviors that accompany it. Drawing on case histories, clinical observation, and dream analysis, the work explores aversion and fear toward the opposite sex, family dynamics (especially paternal and maternal influences), jealousy and its pathological forms, links with epilepsy and sadistic impulses, and various paraphilic and analytic phenomena such as transvestitism, voyeurism, and anal erotism. Chapters move from symptomatic description to psychodynamic interpretation and therapeutic considerations, emphasizing unconscious fantasies, developmental origins, and the use of psychoanalytic technique to understand and treat these neurotic presentations.
