The Last Victory

A transport vessel carrying Outlander colonists, crew, and Frontier Guards is flung through hyperspace and crash-lands on an unknown planet, stranding survivors. Two equal-ranking officers dispute command—one committed to a centralized technocratic order, the other pragmatic and independently minded—while hostile forest creatures threaten the camp. The Outlanders, who fled a society that suppressed individuality, press to establish an autonomous way of life, and disputes over arms, authority, and daily needs expose a wider clash between imposed collective control and the desire for personal freedom as the group organizes to survive.
