About This Book

A grandmother uses simple, nightly conversations with her young granddaughter to set out essential Christian teachings: God's eternal triune nature and the creation of angels, stars, and the earth; humanity made in God's image, the covenant of works and the fall that follows; the covenant of grace enacted by a divine Redeemer who assumes human nature, his humiliation, death, resurrection, ascension, and present intercession; the final judgment and the close of offered mercy; and practical, child-focused guidance about seeking and receiving divine grace.

Transcriber’s Notes

A Table of Contents has been added for convenience.

In the caption for the frontispiece, “Grandmama” has been changed to “Grandmamma” to make it consistent with the rest of the project.

On page 46, “in” has been corrected to “on” at “vision on the Isle of Patmos.”

Obvious punctuation errors have been silently corrected.
