Two young moving-picture operators join a film company on the Pacific coast and then accept an opportunity to travel to Africa to obtain spectacular footage and pursue a personal search for a missing sister. Their journey becomes an episodic safari into the interior, with river travel, photographic expeditions, dangerous encounters with lions, rhinoceros, and elephants, a burned station, attacks on camp, daring rescues, and finally a hard-won victory and familial reunion.
