The story follows a small team of young motion-picture operators who risk front-line duty to document combat. They brave bombardments to record artillery and infantry actions, undertake daring rescues, employ deception and disguise to mislead the enemy, and confront aerial and armored encounters. After capture and imprisonment they mount escapes and struggle to recover lost film reels that contain vital records of the fighting. Episodes stress courage, quick thinking, technical resourcefulness in taking pictures under fire, and the bonds of comradeship forged amid danger.
