About This Book
A remote New England cove yields the corpse of a richly clad woman lashed to a wooden grating with an antique handcuff, drawing villagers and a visiting Professor Kent into an investigation. Local mariners, curious neighbors, and the professor examine coastal currents, physical evidence, and curious lashings while chance meetings and secret trysts surface among reclusive residents. The narrative unfolds as clues are pursued along cliffs, hedgerows, and isolated houses, leading through confrontations and disclosures that resolve the mystery of how the victim came to such a fate and who held the key to her end.
