About This Book

A series of twelve sermons presents an introduction to the study of biblical prophecy, arguing for the divine origin and proper interpretation of prophetic texts. The sermons define false and true ideas of prophecy, develop a general argument from fulfilled predictions, examine prophecies concerning Christ's first and second comings, analyze the concept and signs of Antichrist and common prejudices about it, and consider the prophetic style and the method of the Apocalypse. The collection closes with reflections on the uses of prophetic inquiry and an appendix containing a critical letter with the author's reply.
