Threlkeld's Daughter

The story follows an aging space patrol officer and his daughter, alien operatives chemically transformed into human bodies and sent to Earth to abduct a suitable male so the father can reclaim his post. The father emphasizes discipline while the daughter, altered by transition pills, experiences human vanity, desire, and attachment, undermining their objective. They land covertly, conceal their craft, and travel by a modified leafboat toward a coastal city.
