About This Book
In a single-act domestic comedy set in an elegant salon, a married couple erupts into a heated quarrel and agrees to separate, arguing over duty, property and whether love ever existed between them. The wife asserts her desire for liberty and broadcasts the rupture by telephone to friends, while a third man arrives and intensifies the scene by disclosing intimacy and social awkwardness. Rapid, ironic exchanges turn legalistic and moral reasoning into comic spectacle, exposing bourgeois pretensions, gendered expectations, and the tension between public reputation and private desire.
