1. Eating and Drinking.

4. The Age.

Next month I shall be sixteen years old. Hei de fazer desaseis annos no mez que vem.
I was thirteen years old last week. Fiz treze annos a semana passada.
You do not look so old. Vm. naõ me parecia ter tanta idade.
You look older. Vm. parecia ter mais idade.
I thought you were older. Cuidava que era mais velho.

5. The Time.

What o’clock is it? Que horas saõ?
Pray tell me what time it is? Tenha a bondade de dizer-me que horas saõ.
It is one o’clock. É uma hora.
It is past one. É uma hora passada.
It has struck one. É uma hora ja dada.
It is a quarter past one. É uma hora e um quarto.
It is half past one. É hora e meia.
It wants ten minutes to two. Saõ duas horas menos dés minutos.
It is not yet two o’clock. Ainda naõ deraõ duas horas.
It is only twelve o’clock. Naõ é mais que meio-dia.

It is raw weather. Faz um tempo frio e juntamente humido.
It rains. Chove.
It has been raining. Choveo.

There are some drops of rain falling. Caem algumas gotas d’agua.
It hails. Cae pedra.
It snows; it is snowing. Neva. Está chovendo neve.
It has been snowing. Cahio bastante neve.
It snows in large flakes. Cahe neve em frocos.
It freezes. Géla.
It has frozen. Cahio geada.
It begins to thaw. O tempo começa a abrandar-se.
It thaws. Ha degêlo.
It is very windy. Faz bastante vento.

It lightens. Está fazendo relampagos.

It is very slippery. Escorrega muito.
It is bad walking. Faz máo tempo para se sahir.

7. Salutation.

I wish you good morning. Tenha Vm. muito bons dias.

9. Breakfast.
