Ungewöhnliche und heute nicht mehr verwendete Schreibweisen bleiben gegenüber dem Original unverändert; fremdsprachliche Ausdrücke wurden nicht korrigiert.

Die Buchanzeigen wurden der Übersichtlichkeit halber am Ende des Texts gesammelt dargestellt. Die originale Titelseite weist auf ‚16 Illustrationen im Text‘ hin, obwohl nur neun vorhanden sind. Dieser Fehler wurde in der vorliegenden elektronischen Ausgabe korrigiert.
