About This Book
The narrative follows the married knight Geraint whose pride and jealousy are stirred by rumours, prompting him to demand a harsh proof of Enid's fidelity. He forces her into poor dress and forbids speech, then leads them into perilous travels where she repeatedly cares for and warns him despite his coldness. The poem traces themes of love, honor, miscommunication, and the testing of devotion as the couple face moral trials, combat and eventual reconciliation.
