About This Book
A poor orphan boy is taken into a modest household where he is at first neglected and grows mischievous, but he finds solace in a rescued cat. A moment of conscience and a simple prayer prompt him to change his ways, and steady kindness and effort win him greater care and trust. When a sailor offers to trade goods abroad, the cat’s usefulness brings unexpected benefit to the household, transforming the boy’s fortunes and paving the way for reunion and security.
