An elderly couple live in a wood with an oversized bag that becomes the focus of a string of comic misadventures. In brief, illustrated episodes an old man stuffs a hen into the bag and is chased by a conspicuously dressed red policeman, the hen escapes through a hole, the wife mends the bag and later slips a roll of butter into it at market, prompting another pursuit and discovery.
