Aletta H. Jacobs

Aletta H. Jacobs (1854-1929) was a pioneering Dutch physician and women's rights advocate, recognized for her significant contributions to the women's suffrage movement and public health. She was the first woman to graduate from a Dutch university and became a prominent figure in advocating for women's rights, particularly in relation to reproductive health and voting rights. Her notable works include "De Vrouw: Haar bouw en haar inwendige organen," which discusses women's anatomy and health, and "Vrouwenkiesrecht," where she argues for women's suffrage. Jacobs' writings reflect her commitment to social reform and her role in the international peace movement.
